History

Lady Mary Wortley Montagu (1689-1762) was the first English who entered an Ottoman harem. She was married to the British ambassador in Turkey, her “letters” were frequently cited by English women travelers. She criticized contemporary social attitudes towards women in many of her writings she is also known by her pioneering of smallpox inoculation. She adopted the traditional dress of the Turkish country.

Characteristics

This apartment is a duplex with a floor made of original Sierra Elvira marble and hydraulic floor tiles. The ground floor has a kitchen, a shower room and a double-level living room with a comfortable sofa bed. The twin bed and the bathroom are situated on the top floor which provides a fantastic view of the countryside and the neighborhood of la Axerquía.

The most striking feature of this apartment is the wooden beams which cover the entire roof.
